Out on the slopes
The local skiing is quite superb and caters for all levels of ability.
Behind the hotel there is an excellent beginners area where one can find
one's 'ski-legs' before heading for the beginners slope and lifts. Later
in the week there is a two mile green run which ensures rapid progress.
A stop at the buvette halfway along is highly recommended. Here you can
enjoy a drink and a delicious pancake while watching the more seasoned
skiers come off the Chamossiere runs.
For the more experienced, we have a full range of pistes on our immediate
doorstep including numerous reds and two black runs. From here you can
take a lift to Les Gets which has a further 32 lifts. The Super Morzine
Link to Avoriaz makes it possible to ski into Switzerland as well as other
villages in the Portes du Soleil area, giving access to an amazing total
of 230 lifts. We provide a ski guide to show you around this wonderfully
varied ski area containing 22 black, 56 red and 84 blue/green runs.
Expert skiers
Our insurance does cover some off piste skiing provided you check with
pisteurs that conditions are safe and you are not attempting the extreme.
The off piste in Nyon is amongst the best in France largely due to the
fact that it rarely gets skied other than during weekends and the high
season.
Guiding
The hotel provides a ski guide, chosen for ski ability as well as personality
and experience, to make your week in the mountains safe and enjoyable.
We will provide a 5 day guiding programme but should stress that skiers
must be capable of red runs. If you are not to the required ability, you
may be advised to join the local ski school. Our management and many of
our staff are also accomplished skiers.
Lift passes and equipment hire
Discounted lift passes are normally ordered and paid for on your journey
to resort. A plentiful supply of modern skis and boots is available at
the hotel. We charge a standard price of 60 euros (393fr.) for skis. Children's
prices apply for children with skis less than 150cms.
